Bath Half Marathon
Thank you!
Twenty inspiring individuals took on the 13.1 miles on Sunday 15 March to raise the profile of The Carers' Centre, fundraising vital funds that are essential in enabling us to support unpaid carers across Bath and North East Somerset. Together they raised £3,694 which is incredible!
We can't thank them enough - some are runners, others simply wanted a challenge - they all did it to make a significant impact to the lives of others.
To everyone who sponsored them - we are endlessly grateful. Money raised through events like this helps fund Carers Cafés and Wellbeing Activities, as well as Peer Support Groups - all designed to offer a regular break and time away from their caring role to re-charge.
If you missed the opportunity to sponsor the runners but would still like to make a donation, click on the Donate button that sits on the top right of every page.
Whilst the 2026 Bath Half Marathon may be finished, we would still love to hear from anyone who would like to fundraise for us! If you are taking part in another Half Marathon, are looking to hold a Cake and Bake sale, or perhaps you have something even more creative in mind - we'd love to hear from you.
We will support you in any way we can to ensure it's success - with fundraising assets, practical advice, legal information - whatever you need to ensure your fundraising event is a success.

Why we need you to fundraise
The Carers’ Centre provides free support to around 8,000 adult carers and 1,000 young carers across Bath and North East Somerset. Our services include personalised support plans, free wellbeing activities, carer cafés, peer support groups, and a dedicated support line.
Most of us will become carers of a loved one - or will need to be cared for, at some point in our lives. As our population ages, demand for our services is growing year on year. Fundraising is crucial for us to continue to provide our free support to carers.
Fundraising FAQs
Thank you for taking the first step towards organising a fundraiser in support of our charity. Every event, big or small, makes a real difference in helping us continue our vital work supporting thousands of unpaid carers who are selflessly caring for loved ones, day in and day out.
We’re here to support you along the way, and our FAQs highlight some important legal considerations to keep in mind as you plan your fundraiser.
Collecting money
If you’re collecting money in the street, you’ll need a licence from the local authority. If it’s private property such as a shop car park or shopping centre, please ask the owner or manager.
Raffles and lotteries
If you’re holding a raffle at an event and will be drawing winners within the event, you can use cloakroom tickets but if your raffle lasts longer than 24 hours you’ll need a lottery licence and printed tickets with our charity number on them. Please ask for support to do this.
Music and alcohol
If you are intending to sell alcohol or have booked a band to play music at your event, you’ll also need a licence. We can help you apply for this.
Insurance
Please do a risk assessment of your activities and check if you need first aiders present. If your event is open to the public (not just family and friends), it’s important to have public liability insurance as The Carers' Centre will not accept liability for anything that happens to people as a result of your event.
That’s not as scary as it sounds as the venue you use might already have this, and so might your home insurance if you’re holding it at home.
You’ll also need any caterers to have their own insurance as well as a food hygiene certificate. If you’re providing food yourself, the Food Standards Agency provides great advice on preparing, handing and cooking food.
Paying in your fundraising money
Once you have raised all this money, please don’t forget to pass it to us! If you’ve used a page such as Just Giving or created a tribute page, the donations will come to us automatically. You can pay in money via our website or send a cheque made payable to 'BaNES Carers Centre' to The Carers' Centre, Woodlands, Lower Bristol Road, Bath, BA2 9ES.
Don’t forget to let us know who you are and what you did - we'd love to give you a shout out!
