This website is run by The Carers’ Centre (this is the operating name of Bath and North East Somerset Carers’ Centre).   

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.  

For example, that means you should be able to: 

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings 
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software 
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader  
  • understand the content because it’s written in simple English 
  • access alt tags that describe the content of images.

How accessible this website is 

Whilst we have tried to make sure that our website is accessible, we know some parts of it are not fully accessible and we are developing a plan to address this.   

Our plan includes carrying out a review of the website in order capture an updated list of current issues and then creating a clear timetable to address those issues.  
 
Some of the existing issues that we are aware of, include: 

  • not all images have alt tags – we are working to address this 
  • our PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software 
  • not all of the site is navigable using a keyboard or screen reader 
  • elements of the design do not reach accessibility standards in terms of contrast. 

We make use of third-party resources such as audio and video players to embed content in our website. Wherever possible we will make sure that these conform with good practice in terms of accessibility.
