Working Together for Young Carers
Are you an educational professional looking to support the wellbeing of your pupils? Learn everything you need to know about young carers to improve their attendance, attainment and achievement in school.
What to expect
This informative workshop for educational professionals across the Bath and North East Somerset area will help you to:
Identify young carers in your school
It can be difficult to recognise the impact of unpaid care, especially as a child. They need a helping hand from those around them. By the end of the session you will feel more confident to identify young carers, improving their chances to access support earlier.
Support the wellbeing of young carers
With 1 in 3 young carers having a mental health issue, it is no surprise that caring can have a significant impact on their physical health, mental wellbeing, attendance and educational outcomes. As a busy professional, we know that it can be difficult to provide additional support to all vulnerable pupils. Find out about our free school resources to support you and learn how to make a pupil referral to our service for additional support, free activities and wellbeing sessions.
Learn how other schools support young carers
There will be an opportunity to hear from other educational professionals about how they support young carer's in their schools and discuss best practice with other attendees.
Workshop details
Our workshops are delivered through either an online or in-person session, lasting 2 - 3 hours.
