Excellence for Carers Award
The Carers’ Centre in Bath is delighted to have received an Excellence for Carers Award from Carers Trust. The award is the standard for best practice in services, advice and information for unpaid carers.
The Carers’ Centre is part of the Carers Trust's network of local carer organisations, and was rigorously assessed for its service, as well as the quality of its leadership, staff, internal processes and engagement with key local partners and stakeholders.
For over 25 years, The Carers’ Centre has worked tirelessly to support unpaid carers in Bath and North East Somerset. The role of an unpaid carer can be challenging, confusing, exhausting and complex. We provide trusted support and help to carers at all stages of their journey. This comes in the form of practical guidance and knowledge in caring for a loved one, dedicated Support Line for carers to call, and providing compassion, understanding and respite through activities such as cafés, wellbeing classes, peer support groups and days out for young carers. All provided free of charge.
Charities achieving the Carers Trust standard must demonstrate quality of service to unpaid carers across ten key areas including outcomes and impact, carer involvement, and information, advice and support.
As well as signalling the quality of its services for unpaid carers, the award means The Carers’ Centre’s partners and stakeholders can be confident they are working with an organisation that has best practice and sustainability at the heart of its work.
Rohati Chapman Executive Director, Programmes & Impact at the Carers Trust said: “The award demonstrates the commitment of everyone at The Carers’ Centre in Bath and North East Somerset in providing consistently high quality services to unpaid carers.”
