The Carers' Centre among vital community services at risk
Bath and North East Somerset council are proposing £10.31 million budget cuts, which will impact essential community support services - like The Carers' Centre.
Like all local authorities, we recognise that Bath and North East Somerset council finds itself needing to make major savings.
In a bid to make necessary budget savings of £10.31 million for the upcoming financial year (2024/2025), beginning April 2024, Bath and North East Somerset council is considering a significant cut of 21.4% across community support services.
The scale and speed of the proposed cuts pose a serious threat to essential services that directly impact the lives of unpaid carers. There will be a significant impact on The Carers' Centre, which is a lifeline for many in the community as the charity provides invaluable support and resources to ensure that unpaid carers receive the care and recognition they deserve.
