Become a Carer Café Volunteer

Be a changemaker in your local community and join our mission to support local unpaid carers.

Did you know? There are over 20,000 unpaid carers in the Bath and North East Somerset area. This number continues to rise. Due to the pandemic, The Carers’ Centre are helping more than double the number of carers than last year.

Looking after someone can have a significant impact on many areas of a person’s life, physically, emotionally, financially, and more. To ensure the growing number of carers in our local area are recognised, valued and get the help they deserve – we need your help!

What you will do

Give unpaid carers living in Bath and North East Somerset the best opportunity to promote their wellbeing. Our carer cafés are social spaces where carers can chat with others who understand over a hot drink, play informal games and make new friends in a relaxing and welcoming environment.

The cafés take place on a variety of week-days and evenings, times and at a range of locations. This volunteer role allows confident and pro-active individuals lots of opportunities to get involved! A wellbeing café volunteer will offer a warm welcome, will help to set up the space and support carers to connect with others and the wider community.
