New Self-help Service

Online Self-Help for Carers

Welcome to Bridgit Care

We have launched a new self-help service to support unpaid adult carers. It’s called Bridgit Care (or ‘Bridgit’ for short) and is designed to make your life easier – because we know that caring for someone you love can, at times, feel overwhelming.

How Bridgit can help

Bridgit provides personalised support and information to help you care for your loved ones – and yourself.

It’s easy and free to use and you can access everything, day or night.

Whoever you’re looking after, Bridgit’s AI Coaches will give you practical advice, personalised toolkits, and local resources all in one place. You can ask for tailored guidance on managing finances, improving wellbeing, or information on connecting with local services. If you choose to register, you can save what you've been given and pick up where you left off, next time.

Our Support Line service is still available for anyone who needs it. If you need to speak to someone, call 0800 0388 885, Mon – Fri 9am – 1pm or email support@banescarerscentre.org.uk

We're always happy to speak to you – it's not a bother!

Give Bridgit a go!

Bridgit is supported by Carers Trust and is already making a significant impact on the lives of carers in other areas of the UK.

Remember! As with all tools, online support is not always 100% accurate and does not provide you with everything a real person might. Check our privacy policy for more information.

If you need urgent help you should always call the emergency services.

Frequently asked questions

Here are some answers to common questions about Bridgit.

There are links to Bridgit from most pages of our website, and on this page. It's like a separate area of the website, but with a different look and feel.

When you first access Bridgit, you will be asked a few questions about yourself. You will then be able to start using the service and asking the coaches questions. If you register (by clicking a link on the top-right of the page and creating an account using your email) you can save tools and information that you have created with Bridgit, and go back and pick up where you left off.

Bridgit is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool that sources its information from The Carers' Centre website and other local and national websites. Our Support Team also provides Bridgit with a wide range of tailored, local information. This means it can give you personalised, accurate responses to your questions.

Bridgit has a number of 'coaches' that cover different areas, such as wellbeing and finance, who respond to your questions as a real person might. They are available any time of the day or night, so you can ask questions at a time to suit you. They can also respond in, and understand, a range of languages, to make sure that we are reaching, and able to support, as many unpaid carers as possible.

If you're still unsure, or need a second opinion, you can always call or email the support line.

As with all tools, online support is not always 100% accurate - the same applies to website content or information you might get from other sources, such as leaflets or advice from friends. So it's worth bearing this in mind - but as a rule of thumb, most of the information you're given will be up-to-date.

It is also important to remember that an AI tool does not provide you with everything a real person might! AI can't read your body language or use intuition to understand how what you're really feeling may be different from what you're saying.

Please remember that, as with all the various forms of support we offer, if you need urgent help, you should call the emergency services.

We know that people like to access information and services in a range of ways.

Our Support Line service is available for anyone who needs it – we're here to help!
