Sensory Wellbeing Workshop

Did you know that we have more than five senses? Have you ever considered how these senses affect your wellbeing?

In this session discover the profound impact of your senses and learn how small, simple changes can help you feel a lot better in daily life. You'll learn what sensory wellbeing is and delve into concepts such as the window of tolerance and 'sensory welldoing' which can help widen this window, enabling you to better cope as a carer.

You’ll explore a variety of sensory inputs, reflect on your sensory needs and discover practical strategies to enhance your wellbeing.

What to expect

Our free activities are here to help you take some time for yourself and to meet others that understand the joys and challenges of looking after a loved one.

Things to note:

  • This workshop is for anyone who is interested in sensory approaches but may particularly benefit those who are aware they are seekers or avoiders for particular sensory inputs, and those who care for people with sensory processing differences.
  • The workshop will be led by Alice Hoyle, a parent carer, with lived expertise of sensory needs for herself and one of her children and author of a book on sensory wellbeing for schools.
  • There will be sensory snacks!
  • If you need help with transport to attend this activity, please inform us when booking. Whilst we will do our best to arrange this, please note that we cannot make any guarantees.

What our community say

"The activities are a little oasis of calm, they allow me to zone out of a busy routine and take a breath."
