A platinum party fit for the Queen!
Wow! What a party! On the Thursday (2nd June) of the Jubilee bank holiday weekend, more than 250 people from across Bath and North East Somerset celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in style at a special party jointly organised by The Carers' Centre, The Holburne Museum and Southside Family Project.
Hosted at The Holburne Museum in Bath, the weather was glorious and there was fun and laughter in abundance as people of all ages joined in with craft activities organised by local artists (the commemorative coin and crown making was especially popular with young carers!) before sitting down and tucking into a delicious BBQ in the beautiful surrounds of Sydney Gardens.
The Holburne Museum also very kindly opened their doors to free of charge, meaning everyone could have a browse at the fascinating exhibitions in the museum.
A heartfelt thank you to all the families, carers, volunteers, artists and staff from each of the three organisations who made it such a special day - it certainly was a Jubilee party that will live long in the memory!
A special thanks also goes to Arts Council England and the Quartet Community Foundation for the funding which allowed us to put on this event.
Say cheese!
