Help for carers

Services during Covid-19

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have talked to many carers from across Bath and North East Somerset.

We have heard how hard it has been for you, especially during the lockdowns, to maintain your own health and wellbeing. Many of you have had to provide more care, because your normal support services or help from friends and family has been restricted.

We have also heard some wonderful stories, where neighbours and the local community have recognised the importance of your caring responsibility and have stepped up to provide you with reassurance and practical support.

The key thing we heard, is just how important it is to talk – to offload, to share your worries and express the many new challenges you face caring for a loved one at this time. We also heard that still being able to connect with other carers really does help you to feel less alone.

“It's been a struggle to say the least - very hard.  We feel alone.  But just the fact that you've called is worth a thousand pounds - thank you so much.”

“I didn’t think it was going to help as I thought I would just get more stressed but you really have helped by talking. Thank you so much.

We may not be able to get close, but we’ll never be far away.

  • Our Support Line - 0800 0388 885 - will stay open (weekdays, 8.15am - 12pm) - so if you need help, advice or just want to talk, we’re be at the end of the phone or just an email away.
  • We’ll continue to offer you a weekly mix of online wellbeing activities and virtual meet-ups and develop telephone groups for those who would prefer to use the phone.
  • Most importantly, we’ll do everything we can to keep carers, volunteers and staff safe by providing a Covid Secure environment.
