Income maximisation
It is a delicate balance when it comes to considering our personal needs alongside the financial cost of caring responsibilities. With a limited income, this can add an extra layer of complexity which can sometimes lead to feeling financially stressed and overwhelmed.
By reviewing your income alongside your outgoings, this helps to identify ways to maximise your money and ensure it goes further. We can support you to access applicable benefits and financial advice, and offer practical solutions that are both attainable and sustainable.
Whether you are currently out of work, or you work part or full-time, we are here to support you and ease those financial pressures.
"I can help you make the most of your income and manage your money in a practical, healthy and sustainable way."

Navigate the benefits system to ensure you are accessing the right benefits and getting the most out of what is available
Check if you can increase your income by claiming benefits or accessing government grants. You may be able to claim if you are:
- On a low income
- Looking for work
- A carer or a parent or guardian
You can use an online benefits calendar to explore which benefits you can access and find out how to apply.
We would recommend using the Turn2Us benefits calculator.
Understanding your bills and tariffs to enhance your knowledge of the utilities you use
We can offer advice on your bills to ensure you are on the best tariff for your needs, to save you money and maximise your income.
There are two types of tariff:
Standard variable tariff
This is when your rate goes up and down with the price of energy.
Fixed tariff
This is when your rate stays the same for the length of your contract.
To work out the best one for you think about your budget, the type of meter you have and any specific needs for your household, for example, if you need more energy at night.
Make your home energy efficient by accessing grants and implementing small measures to help
An energy efficient home means it will be cheaper to heat and will stay warmer for longer - meaning your energy bills will cost less.
There are a variety of grants for energy efficiency measures such as installing or upgrading your boiler, or switching to a low carbon system.
You may be eligible for a grant if you meet any of the following criteria:
- The energy performance of your home is poor
- You're on a low income
- You claim benefits
- You or someone in the household has a health condition.
Contact our Support Team to explore if you can access grants for home energy efficiency improvements.
