Carers' Centre Trustee Pippa Hawkins, with her Volunteer of the Year Award from Sirona Care and Health.
Carers’ Centre Trustee, Pippa Hawkins, has been recognised for her work to involve carers at Sirona Care and Health. Nominated by Involvement Co-ordinator Martha Cox, Pippa has received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Sirona for her efforts to ensure carers’ views are listened to by the organisation.
“I am there to stand up for the views of carers and users when Sirona are making changes or developing new services,” said Pippa. “I also have a place on the Membership Board where I take part in the overall management. “I think I got the award because I don't hesitate to speak out if I feel the user’s or carer’s voice is not being heard.
“I’m not used to receiving awards, but I realise that that carers are being listened to through me, and that feels very positive.”
