The Carers' Centre Shortlisted for a Bath Life Award 2019

The Carers' Centre is delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for a Bath Life Award this year in the charity category.

The Bath Life Awards are about celebrating the best in Bath. This year we put ourselves forward for our achievements over 2018 which included setting up a range of pop up neighbourhood carer cafes, putting on the first 'Caring Community Awards' in partnership with five Bath businesses, and helping almost 5,000 carers with support, information and advice, among a range of other work.

Many of our clients say that our service is a 'lifeline' and that without it they would not be able to cope with their caring situation. We strongly believe it is critical that carers are supported in the community as the NHS / state services simply could not provide the amount of care that's required — and this demand is only set to increase in the coming years.

The Carers' Centre grown and flourished from when we started in Radstock almost 23 years ago with two volunteers, to where we are today with two centres, 25 staff and working with carers across BaNES. We have been able to achieve this because we're serving a need in the community that is desperately overlooked. We consistently provide quality services for free to enable carers to have some respite, meet others and have a better life.

We are proud of our work and happy that it is reflected in the shortlist of this year's Bath Life Awards.

Organised by MediaClash (publishers of BathLife), The Bath Life Awards are the most prestigious, most tightly contested Awards with the greatest number of local companies involved. Winning a Bath Life Award is a powerful accolade. Recipients will be announced on the night on February 28th. Fingers crossed!
